Optimization and Analysis of Mechanical Systems

Over time, mechanical systems do not operate the way they were originally designed. As components age, they no longer function as intended. This can result in inefficient operation of systems. Similarly, as the use or layout of rooms change, systems need to be adjusted to meet their new use. We assess your mechanical systems operation to determine if your systems are running in a sustainable manner. By doing so, we determine if systems are capable of producing a quality preservation environment. Our analysis provides strategies to operate with the least amount of energy. This allows for the best possible environment for your collection.

Custom Environmental Assessment

The difference between a great and good environment may be only a few degrees, which can add years to the life of your collection. We help evaluate your collection space and determine what the needs are and what may be the best way to provide it.

Mechanical System Design Representation

When it comes to the design of a mechanical system sometimes the collection needs a “voice” to ensure that the right type of system is in place. We act as a third-party representative, working with engineers and designers to ensure the collection’s needs during the design stages.

We evaluate and make recommendations to ensure the best systems are in place for your institutions. We work with engineering staff to answer any questions they have or to ensure that at the time of installation you have the best possible mechanical system to maximize efficiencies.

Preservation Commissioning

When new systems are installed, it is important to ensure that they are operating as intended. We ensure that systems are operating at the correct temperature and humidity for sustainable preservation.

Combining data analysis, mechanical system evaluation and collection space assessments, we determine if your new system is operating as it was designed, and creating a quality preservation environment for your collections sustainably.
